The Blues have come and gone for this year...here a few of the posters that I built 2017.

This poster really just to celebrate Melisa Devost and her first appearance as an instructor and performer in the Hornby Island Blues Workshop. Tickets sell out so early that posters are redundant and so the artwork which I do love to cobble together is simply not required. Here are a few links to this years crew...couldn't find a website for Lisa Rae Simons or Sam Harrisson, maybe you will have better luck in your search to find out more about them.
Melisa Devost
 Cécile Doo-Kingué
 David Vest
 Harpdog Brown
 Jack de Keyzer
 JW-Jones
Paul Deslauriers
Rick Fines
Roly Platt
Suzie Vinnick
Paul Pigat

Odyssey 2017...just one stop in the many roads trips these musicians make...hope it was wonderful.

This year the guitar was a real sweetie...
Back in February Sea Breeze hosted Rick Fines and Roly Platt...wicked good stuff.

Blues Week 2016...done and well done!

Local boy won the guitar this year, I know he can dance but now I gotta hear him play...
Designing a poster each year for the raffle is a lot of fun, and then we auction the 24" x 36" poster off to defray costs and someone has a very cool collection...The artist who originally designed the poster featuring the magician Carter is not credited, only the Otis Lithograph Co. of Cleveland 1926. I have tried not to destroy the effects of the beautiful image...whilst having my way with it.

Very unique tribute raffle...

For many years our friend Mike Pearson joined us as a student during our annual Blues Camp.
The camp, the blues community and the music were a passion with him...
Mike built this guitar in the last year of his life, and before passing away told his family and friends that he wished to donate his labour of love to The Hornby Island Blues Society to raffle for a Blues scholarship.
Mike’s special presence will remain part of our Blues Workshop Family...his big hearted spirit remembered in this unique raffle which will cycle his guitar back each year.

This, the epic wrap up to a Week filled with great music and terrific workshops.
